I recently applied for health insurance and I was eligible for tax credit. I understand what it is but , where does that money go to ? Do I get a certain amount of money every month, do I get a check

If you are claiming the Advance Premium Tax Credit, it goes to the health insurance carrier on a monthly basis. You will then be billed the net amount after APTC is applied. If you choose not to claim it upfront, you will get it at the time you file your taxes. If you do the latter you will still need the 1095-A to reconcile your income on a IRS form 8962 to the amount you did not receive monthly so you get it all during the tax filing.
