I received a letter from irs for notice id DTF-973.70 from NYS. They want me to send them my schedule A and copies of my itemized deductions

The letter is not from the federal.  The federal approved and sent my refund.  Its a letter from the state.  They only refunded me 832 instead of my complete $2000.  They want to verify my Schedule A with expenses.  As I indicated in my federal I don't have all my vehicles expenses what should I do and federal didn't have a problem just the state.

I've got the same letter. what are the consequences if you get the amount that state corrected?
Does that affect your federal tax?
