I received a 44444 form with a corrected Box 2.

I received a 44444 form from my employer with a corrected amount in Box 2 (Federal income tax withheld). Do I need to enter this, and if so, how do I do that?

Did you already file your return ?   If so this is an error that the IRS will catch automatically so no need to amend.

The Form is a W-2c Corrected Wage and Tax Statement as shown on the bottom of the form.

I did not - someone had caught the error before we filed, so I filed an extension and finally received the corrected amount in Box 2. Would like to file now with the correct amount. Can I simply enter the amended amount in Box 2?

Yes, simply enter the correct info now and file.

You can edit the W-2 that was entered with the corrected amount in box 2.  After completing the edit of the W-2 there will be a screen Do any of these uncommon situations apply to this W-2?  Check the box labeled Corrected W-2 - I got a corrected W-2 from Employer.  Continue with this section until it completes.

Enter w-2 in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen.  Click on Jump to w-2.
