I purchased a 2015 Nissan Leaf in 2021, do I qualify for the form 8936 tax credit in 2022?

The year 2015 Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle isn't showing up as an option, but last year they said that they accept vehicles as old as 2011.

if its eligible the credit is claimed in 2021 not 2022

No, I don't believe you do.  You purchased the vehicle prior to 2023.

 

"Beginning January 1, 2023, if you buy a qualified used electric vehicle (EV) or fuel cell vehicle (FCV) from a licensed dealer for $25,000 or less, you may be eligible for a used clean vehicle tax credit..."

 

 "Purchases made before 2023 don't qualify."
