I printed my State Return no problem but can't print my Federal. Any suggestions? I'm using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

My return has been accepted.  This is the message I received-TurboTaxReturns.tax2019 could not be opened because it is either not a supported file or the file has been damaged, for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded.

The .tax file is designed to be imported into a tax return. You can download and/or view the PDF version. See our FAQ on how to view your tax return after you file.

I still cannot download , print or view a PDF version of my Federal return,  When I try it only downloads the .tax2019 file which my Adobe Acobat says isn't a supported file or is a damaged file.  The info received says I can only view a .tax file with TurboTax software/CD which I don't have.  I have never had this problem in previous years with TurboTax.  Also when I select download/print it only downloads the State Return PDF file.

The tax data file, .tax2019, can only be opened with the TurboTax software for 2019.

 

Use this procedure to download the PDF of your 2019 tax return, to include the federal return -

NOTE - The PDF will include both the Federal and State tax returns

 

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

 

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state. 

This will take you back to the 2019 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
