Here is more information on the up to 5 Day Early option: 5 Days Early
Please note: If your federal refund is deposited into your selected bank account up to 1 day before the IRS refund settlement date (the date it would have arrived if sent from the IRS directly), then you will not pay the up to 5 Days Early fee.

Do you see a refund date on the IRS refund site? The "5 day early" offer means you look at the date on the IRS refund site and count back five days----if your refund does not arrive five days ahead of the date the IRS is showing you, you do not get charged for the $25.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
Then watch your bank account. If the IRS said 1-29, it should have been there by 1-24. If it was not there they are not supposed to charge the $25.
Thank you. That’s what I was thinking as well. I have a credit union and it always posts earlier anyways. I have nothing from the IRS
Pay no attention to a refund date that TT gave you. The date that matters is the date on the IRS refund site.
I did receive an email from turbo tax that I would not be charged $25 for the 5 day
It’s a lie it’s their way of charging for doing nothing the IRS will process and send it and turbotax is trying to say they can release it 5 days before the IRS does ya didn’t happen the date on my tax transcripts says is the date and that’s when I get it turbo is trying to say ya we told them to release it before the 21 days processing timeframe a joke and a lie to yet charge us on top of the regular tax service fee don’t do it!!
I PAID $25 FOR A 5 day early refund
TurboTax has NO control over the amount of time it can take the IRS to process your tax return and issue your refund. TT gives you an estimated refund date based only on a 21 day average, which is not a promise from TT or the IRS.
Has the IRS accepted your e-file?
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Has the IRS processed your tax return and provided an issue date for the refund on the IRS refund site? If so, count backwards on your calendar for those five days and hope for the best..
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
Are you subject to the PATH act which means if you are getting earned income credit or additional child tax credit they are required to hold your refund until February 15?
If you are subject to PATH, do not expect your refund before late February. Be very pleasantly surprised it it comes sooner.

Remember that the “”5 day early” date is based on the date given to you on the IRS refund site—-not the date the TT site shows in your account. If your refund does not come in five days ahead of the IRS date, they are supposed to cancel the $25 fee.
Yep date is 2/4 counting backwards today is 5 days early and nothing so hopefully they cancel the fee like someone else mentioned they did for them. I called TT the lady said the 4th (what WMR says) is the 5 days early bc it isn’t the full 21 days the representative said smh so any fay before 21 days they get to take credit for?!!!
@Sf123 The IRS neither knows nor cares about the "5 day early" offer. The IRS is posting the date that the IRS intends to release the refund.
I know that and I’m letting ppl know my experience is ‘No I did not receive mine 5 days early like TT said they would release it’ I will most likely receive when the IRS refund trackers says it will be issued. In my opinion do not bother with the “5 days earlier” gimmick
I received my deposit on my deposit date and they did not charge me the $25 for 5 days earlier
I was not charged the $25 for the earlier part. My deposit was received on the date of WMR
Mine says $25 plus tax came to $27 and change that they will deduct from my refund for 5 days earlier. Was yours never deducted?
They did not charge me anything because it did not get deposited early. It was deposited on the date WMR gave me
Yeah they still charged me the fees for the early deposit but then (after I already paid with my card) it said ooops your not eligible for early deposit
DO NOT DO THIS! Biggest scam ever! Turbo Tax can NOT get you money 5 days sooner! They are NOT above the IRS! Typically after the IRS sends the money to TurboTax they send it to you within a few days anyway! So you’re basically paying Turbo Tax to do what they already do. It never takes over 5 days. So they literally did a bait and switch with TONS OF PEOPLE and so many fell for this lie! Many people won’t even start getting approvals from the IRS until Feb 15 if you have certain credits! Which wasn’t mentioned. Probably somewhere in super tiny print somewhere. But. It wasn’t on the page where you select the option to get the refund early. We filed on Jan 8, and signed up for the 5 days early. We have yet to even get a date from the IRS of when we will get ours. Today marks 21 business days (29 actual days) since we filed! I thought it was 21 days from when you FILED! Because that would make sense. But no. It’s 21 days from the date the IRS gives you. Which nobody with those credits will even get a date until their taxes start getting approved on the 15th of Feb. Just save your $25 and wait the 5 days. This is the last year that we will ever use Turbo Tax though. Big scam. Not real.
I filed my taxes the 3rd of this month I also paid the 25.00 and IRS said I should get my return the 14th of this month . umm today is the 11th.of Feb.
Due to PATH Act, the IRS holds refunds for EITC/ACTC customers until March 3. You should still receive your refund up to 5 days early. This date is calculated based on being up to 5 days prior to when the IRS releases your refund.

So I did the 5 day early advance too but I think what happened is either yesterday or today (they11th or 12th) the IRS updated my refund to be sent on 2/14. I don’t think TT had time to send it early because by the time the IRS updated it’ll be posted to my account 2-3 day’s later anyways. I didn’t get charged either.
