I owed both state and federal taxes. I selected when e-filing for the money to come out of my account on 2/16/21. It was not taken out. Help?

Be patient.   The IRS did not even begin to accept 2020 returns until 2-12.   Give it some time for them to begin processing returns and take out the money.  Watch your bank account for the debit.

 

Direct debit is not the way most states want to be paid----you had better find out if that is a way to pay your state.

 

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.
