I need to know if I need to file an amended return for unemployment 2020. I see no everywhere, but how do I know IRS updated this for me?

I filed taxes before the new 2020 unemployment tax break was inacted. Im not sure it’s updated this automatically. How do I find out do I need to amend my return? I already received my refund and it doesn’t seem quite right.

The IRS does not want you to amend for the tax paid on unemployment,   The system is already clogged with amended returns---which take upward of six months to be processed.   Be patient and you will get the extra refund within the next several months.

The IRS began to send out the additional refund checks for tax withheld from unemployment in May.   If you are eligible for the extra refund for federal tax that was withheld from your unemployment the IRS will be sending you an additional refund sometime during the next several months.  TurboTax cannot track or predict when it will be sent.  The IRS has not provided a way for you to track it, so all you can do is wait for the refund to arrive.
