Hello, the AGI transfers over automatically for all returning TurboTax Online users. If there are issues with it being accepted I would check and see if you're in the same account as last year. Here's the account recovery tool to find any other accounts you may have, just be sure to log out of any open tabs: https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/
If that's not it, did you amend the return by chance? If you did, try using the original AGI amount that was transmitted to the IRS.
Also if you have a spouse, make sure the amounts for the AGI under you and your spouse are the totals. Don't split up the AGI between each other.
I'm also posting an article below that helps confirm the AGI location to make sure you have the right amount, just in case:
The best place to get your 2015 adjusted gross income (AGI) is from last year's tax return.
How to get your AGI:
· Automatic transfer when you’re in the TurboTax account you used last year.
· From your original unamended 2015 tax return.
· From an IRS transcript of your return.
Before you can e-file your 2016 federal tax return, the IRS needs to verify your identity with your 2015 adjusted gross income (AGI).
If you can’t get your AGI for e-file, don’t worry. You can still
file a paper return by printing out copies of your federal and state returns
and mailing them in. For information on where to send your
return, go to the IRS site Where to File Paper Tax Returns With or Without a Payment.
Tip: If you didn’t file last year and you’re in TurboTax, just tell us
that when we ask you. But if you’ve already entered a number for your AGI,
manually enter 0 instead.
