I need to file an amended a state return and am prevented from electronically filing a federal return because I have filed to many. How can I file a state return?

You can print, sign and mail it in.    A state return cannot be e-filed unless the corresponding federal return has been e-filed and accepted.    But.....before you amend the state----did you already file an original state return?  What happened with that one?  Was it accepted or rejected?  Why are you amending the state?
