I need to amend California state tax return. I don't need to amend the federal return. Turbotax generated docs for both, fed and state. Do I need to send 1040X to fed?

I am unclear whether I need to send the amended federal tax return since nothing has changed in the federal return. However, I have got the 1040X doc generated.
Also I am unclear if I need to attach the 1040X to my state amended return or do I attach the original 1040 only?

If the changes only affect your state return, you do not need to send the form 1040X to the IRS.
