I need a copy of my signed 2021 tax return, for college however I am just now realizing it wasn’t signed.

I need to know how to sign my tax return that was done through turbo tax.

If you e-filed a tax return there is no physical signature on the Form 1040.  Anyone with any knowledge of electronically filed tax returns would know that at the college.

If the college requires a signed tax return, then print a copy, sign and date the Form 1040 on page 2 and give it to them.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2023 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

I am constantly surprised by the amount of ignorance and misinformation about tax returns among the staff in college financial aid offices, considering that they look at hundreds of tax returns every year. E-filing has been in operation for over 20 years. You would think that by now the financial aid people would know how it works.
