I messed up my adjusted gross income on my federal return, do I need to amend?

I entered the incorrect number because I am new to doing taxes and couldn’t find the AGI until after I submitted. My return was accepted and I just got my return back today but I am still nervous about the mistake.

Are you referring to the AGI you use to track the refund? Or are you referring to the AGI when the return was submitted was incorrect due to a calculation error?

when I was filing the taxes and had to enter my AGI, I entered a different number than what they had pre-put from my last set of taxes in the blank because I was confused

@pphillips0921

These returns are normally Rejected by the IRS.  If it is Rejected you can make a correction and resubmit it.  For more information on this, please see the Help Article here.

Since you have received your refund, you can amend it.

Please see this Turbo Tax FAQ on when to amend.

What do you need to amend it for?  If you entered the wrong AGI for 2020 to efile then it should have rejected.  It it was accepted you do not need to amend for that.

It's pretty much unheard of that you can e-File with the wrong AGI.

You were pretty lucky.

Don't fret about it. Thank your guardian angel.
