I mailed a 1040x to amend a 2016 return. Should I wait until the amended return is processed before filing my 2017 taxes since I am anticipating a state refund?
I received a K-1 dated 2016 in January 2018 so I need to amend my 2016 return. I have completed the 1040x and have it ready to mail. I am working on my 2017 returns in TurboTax, but realize that the data transferred over from 2016 is not showing the amended numbers. I also will receive a state refund that will need to be reported if the amended return is accepted. Even though I will probably have to file an extension, should I wait until the amended return is processed and then file for 2017 or can I go ahead and use the state refund amount and other amended information to file for 2017?

need to update revised data transferred in software, if there are any changes that result from K-1 that carry over. Otherwise, you can file return, as state refund will be reported in year received, 2018.
