I made an error on my donations. It was supposed to say 300 and my daughter-in-law put in 3000 how do I amend my 2022 tax return because I haven’t received it yet.

If the Standard Deduction was entered on your tax return then there is no need to amend the 2022 tax return since charitable contributions are an itemized deduction.  The total of all itemized deductions must be greater than the standard deduction to have any tax benefit.

Look at your 2022 Form 1040 Line 12 to see if the Standard Deduction was used -

Standard deductions for 2022

Single - $12,950 add $1,750 if age 65 or older
Married Filing Separately - $12,950 add $1,400 if age 65 or older
Married Filing Jointly - $25,900 add $1,400 for each spouse age 65 or older
Head of Household - $19,400 add $1,750 if age 65 or older
