You can "downgrade" but be aware that you'll need to re-enter some data:
Click on My Account in the top menu, and select Clear and Start Over
Here are some common things that will prompt you to upgrade (having a 1099-MISC should be on the list also):
The my account tab only has account settings and save and sign out as the options. I don't see a clear and start over option.
I have the same problem, so I can't proceed.
