The IRS says: “Generally, an amount included in your income is taxable unless it is specifically exempted by law. Income that is taxable must be reported on your return and is subject to tax.”

Income from self-employment, including DoorDash, has an additional rule. Since no tax was withheld when you earned your money, you will have to pay self-employment tax if your self-employment earnings after deductions was $400 or more.
