I’m having an issue with a 1040x. And a 2022 1099g pdf upload to mistakenly file a 1040x I didn’t need to Why didn’t turbo tax know it was wrong year? And how to fix?

I filed 1040. Then mistakenly filed 1040x by adding 1099g for 2 years prior in error PDF upload. Why doesn’t turbo tax know it isn’t the correct year? And how do I stop the extra $3k from being withdrawn? TT is telling me to wait to file another 1040x - sorry I don’t have another $3k to wait on.

If you did not use direct debit, it will not be withdrawn.

Otherwise, amount already paid or expected to be paid goes on 1040-X line 16.

I recommend stating up front in Explanation:

"This is amendment No.2 correcting <xyz> error on 1040-X No.1 already e-filed."

You don't have to wait.
