I just filed a 1040 tax form for 2019 on the 18th of April 2020. And really didnt need to do so with the income i had so im wondering if i will get the stimulus payment from the irs since I did so? o

Filing a return should trigger a stimulus payment, if you were not already in a category of people who would receive the payment automatically.  

 

There is now a tool available through the IRS site link below that will allow you to check the status of your stimulus payment.  It is called Get My Payment.
