So can we just write off the $1400 if we did not get the check yet?  My taxes for 2020 are complete except for the $1400.  It is clear that we qualify..not sure what to do here.

The IRS is still in the process of issuing the third stimulus payments.  For information on when/if you can expect your stimulus payment, check the IRS Get My Payment tool.

Go ahead and file your 2020 return now.  The Recovery Rebate Credit that you can claim in your 2020 return, is only to replace the first two stimulus payments if you were eligible for them but did not receive them.

The IRS has not yet issued guidance on whether they will automatically make adjustments for the third stimulus payment or add a credit to the 2021 tax return for those who did not receive the entire payment they were due.  We will continue to post current information in this TurboTax article: How will the third stimulus impact me?

The IRS is sending out Stimulus #3 payments in batches, and will take a few weeks to complete them all.  This one comes to you separately (and automatically), not as part of your 2020 tax refund.
