I have unknowingly filled out the wrong TurboTax software for my sole proprietor business. How do I fix this? Will I lose all the data I already inputted?

The TurboTax business software I purchased does not have a Schedule C. I already input all my other tax data. What do I do to fix this?

If you are using the desktop version, you can save your return on your computer. Once you get the correct software version, you can open the file in the new version and should not lose any information. If you're using the online version, you can upgrade, and all your data should remain.

Did you buy the Desktop Business program or which one exactly?  How did you enter all your other info already?   You probably need to get a refund.  Yes you will have to start over in a personal version.   The Business program (which is only available for Windows, not Mac or Online) is only for a 1065 Partnership or LLC or a 1120 including a Single Member LLC - S corp or a 1041 Estate/Trust return. It is not the same or has any part of the Home & Business personal program.

Or did you buy Home & Business?

To report your self employment income you will fill out schedule C in your personal 1040 tax return and pay SE self employment Tax. You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version. Or any of the Desktop programs. But you will get the most help in the Home & Business version.
