It depends. How does your 2023 amended return affect your 2024 return?
Unless there is a carryover issue, such as a change to depreciation that would affect the next year, each year's return stands on its own.
If you have an outstanding liability for tax year 2023, and you show a refund on your 2024, return, the IRS may deduct the outstanding balance for 2023 from your 2024 refund.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can transfer your 2023 Amended Return into your TurboTax Desktop program for 2024. Try renaming the Amended File to Amended.tax2023 and using BROWSE to point to that file on your computer. See this thread. Here's info on Transferring a Prior Year Return.
