If you had excess Social Security taken out because you had more than 1 employer, it will be on Schedule 3 line 11 which goes to 1040 line 31. The Social Security overpayment on line 31 is included in the total refund on line 35a or reduces a Tax Due on line 37. And if you are married it is for each spouse separately not combined.
Did you have a refund on 1040 line 35a? Did you get the refund or did the IRS reduce it?
Or please explain exactly what refund (from what) you are expecting.
