I have been making irs and state payments from a previous error on my 2015 tax return. Where or how do I end these payments on the 1040?

irs found error in 2015 tax return. now I had to set up payments to them to pay the error amount to them.  Where are these payments entered on the 2018 form

Really??, the Federal tax payments are not deductible??

But only the state are deductible?  Did I understand you correctly?

The state tax payments would be an itemized deduction on the Federal return.

These payments can be entered as follows:

To enter estimated taxes paid (Federal, State, Local)
•    Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
•    Click on Deductions and Credits
•    Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
•    Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
•    On Other Income Taxes Paid, click on the start or update button

In some states the Federal payments can be deducted on the state return (limited number of states do this).
