Amended returns take about 4 months to process,. You mailed it, right?

I'm in the same situation except they told me not to amend but to only summit the 1095A and another form. I faxed mine. I hope it don't delay it to long. Have you heard back from them as of yet?

Yeah it was a 1095a and 8962 form.. I faxed mines Feb13th, i called today and they told me it was recieved and has been process yesterday.. Should be receiving my refund any day now... They typically say 8 weeks but it'll be like 3 or 4 weeks.

Thanks for replying. I faxed mine on Feb 16 and I've called and they keep saying they haven't received it as yet. I hope it won't be long for I am expecting a baby in the next 6 weeks.. I really will be happy if they even tell me they received my fax. Hopefully soon... Fingers crossed

Hey how long does it usually take once you have faxed the 1095 form and the 8962 form does it really take up to 8 weeks

No. The IRS treats your original return and amended return as two separate returns. You should wait until your original return has been accepted, approved and you have received your refund to amend your original return. You cannot e-file an amended return. They have to be mailed (if you have not mailed it, it has not been filed), and it takes up to 16 weeks for the IRS to process an amended return. 3 weeks after you mailed your amendment, you can start tracking its progress at the IRS Where's My Amended Return? site.

Did you receive a letter from the IRS asking you to send in your 1095-A?

Yes I completed a 8962 Form and attach my 1095-A form.

Ok. That is simply responding to the IRS's request for documentation. It does not sound like you amended your return in the Online program. If you did please let me know. If you simply faxed in requested documents it will not take the length of time to process that an amended return would. However, the IRS will need time to review the documentation you submitted so it would not be unusual to have some sort of delay in your refund.

How much longer it will take to process those documents would be impossible for us to know at this time.

I did amend in order to complete my 8962 Form, I faxed instead of mailing because mailing would seem to take longer. There was a amount added after I amend, I'm just trying to see if my original refund will be delayed.

I have not received my original refund and I already have amend/change because on the letter it said I needed to respond as soon as I received the letter. I'm just trying to see if my refund be a lot longer?

There is no way for us to know exactly how long it will take for the IRS to process the paperwork you sent in after they requested it. It is in the IRS's hands at this point, but based on this IRS website you should assume there will be a delay in processing the original refund. "Failing to file a tax return or filing your return without reconciling your advance payments will delay your refund and may affect future advance credit payments. The IRS will send you a letter with instructions about what you need to do to resolve this issue, which may include submitting Forms 1095-A and 8962, so we can process your return." https://www.irs.gov/affordable-care-act/individuals-and-families/the-affordable-care-act-whats-trending
