I got a 35.24 deposit yesterday into my bank. I called the irs and they said it was my unemployment refund. I paid in $2600 so that doesn’t add up. What is the issue?

Could the irs be wrong, she seemed unsure about her answer but still had no information on what the small deposit was for.

Are you sure the unemployment change would get you the entire withholding back ? Did you already get most of it back in the original refund ? Did you use the amendment process in the program to recompute the increase in the refund ?

It could also be the "plus up" of the third stimulus payment if you did not get the full amount in advance.
