I forgot to enter the info from my 1098-E student loan interest form before filing my taxes with Turbotax this year. Is it necessary for me to do an amendment?

I am hoping to not have to amend anything, but will of course do so if it is required. Must I definitely make the correction to enter the interest that I paid (totaling $1100)? If it makes a difference, I know from previous years that I already reached my maximum for any education credits.

No, you do not have to add this form to your tax return. It is used to claim a credit rather than income.
