I finished my taxes and then started to work on my daughter's taxes. I found she had already filed. How can I delete everything? I don't have Tax Tools in left pane.

When starting her taxes TurboTax said I'd need to pay for a new state return. But I hadn't yet e-filed. Not sure if that's why I cannot seem to delete the started return?

If you have not yet registered, paid or e-filed, you can clear and start over.   (or just clear it and NOT start over)  But if you already did any of those things, you cannot clear or delete the return.   If you have not e-filed, you can simply abandon the return and the account without filing the return.  Nothing will happen.

If you truly are using the "Online" software for her, I certainly hope you started an entirely new account for her, and are not overwriting your own file.

Anyhow, click around the menu a bit to a few different income subjects...don't need to actually enter anything....to see if the "Tools" menu shows up on the left-side menu.  When it does, you can then try to find the Clear and Start Over  selection (without starting over).

_________

If it still doesn't, you can either abandon the file anyhow.....nothing is done unless you have attempted to e-file and hit the "Transmit" button.

In any case...write down the UserIDs and Pwds you used for "her" Online account and file, and also your own Online tax file, in case you need to get into either one in the future....and do not get them mixed up as to which is yours.  Keep in a file folder in your tax records drawer.
