I finish my amend to 2015 tax return but I got different amount I owe IRS, in the first page TurboTax told me $702 but in 1040-ES form, it's $628. Which is correct?

I finished my amend for 2015 tax return but I got different amount I owe IRS, in the first page TurbTax told me $702 and $628 in 1040-ES form. Which is correct?

In the first page, TurboTax told me, "Balance | Your federal amended tax return shows you owe a balance due of Due/ | $702.00. Refund | | You are paying by check."

In 1040-ES Form, "Amount of estimated tax you are paying by check or money order . . . . . " is $628

My original refund is $1,439. Please see the attached screenshot.

Ignore the 1040ES form.  A 1040ES is for paying estimates for next year 2016 return.  Not for your tax due.  There is no  payment slip or voucher for an Amended 1040X return.  You just include a check when you mail it.

Even on your screenshot it shows it is FOR 2016 return.  Not 2015.  Read all the screen closely.  The 1040ES is so you won't owe too much on your 2016 return next April.  They are optional to pay.

So look at the actual 1040X form.  If you owe, the amount is on line 20.  That's the amount to pay.

Thank you! All are helpful answers! So, that means I only have to mail out 1040X form and a check to IRS and no need to mail 1040 ES voucher 1,2,3,4. Please help me to confirm if my understanding is correct.

Thanks!

Right.  So did it print out the 4 1040ES slips?  As I said they are optional to pay.  Since you owe on your 2015 return Turbo Tax doesn't want you to owe too much next year. Why did you amend and owe?   They might have printed out if  you had a one time large income like a IRA distribution.

Yes, besides 1040X,  it prints out 4 1040ES slips, 1040 Form, 8889 Form, 8959 Form as I used the previous 2015 tax file to amend. I only updated my marriage status to Married but nothing else, although my spouse is RNA. So, I only have to mail 1040X and ignore the other forms, correct?

Sorry for one more question, I'm seeing 'Audit Protection' is telling me there are differences between 2015 Return and Amended Return (please see amended_return.png), although I didn't change anything except marriage status. Is it okay or I'm in audit risk?

Thanks!
