I filed my taxes today and also filed an amendment today. Do I send both to the IRS?

Do not mail the amended return in until, the original has completed processing.

If you haven't even submitted the original return yet, you can just correct that one and send it in. You don't need to file an amended return unless you've already sent an incorrect return to the IRS.
