I filed my taxes just now and it's "pending". How can I revise the filing? I just realized I forgot something. Thanks!

I forgot to enter my IP PIN, so I would like to just revise me filing and resubmit it quickly, while it's still "pending"

You cannot get back or change a return you filed, even if it is in Pending.  Since your forgot to enter your IP PIN then you return should be rejected.  Then you can enter your IP PIN & re-efile.

How do I add or remove my 6-digit IP PIN?

Follow these instructions to enter your IP PIN or to remove one that you accidentally entered.

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account
  2. Open or continue to your return if you don't already have it open
  3. In the search bar type IP pin (don't forget the space)
  4. Select the Jump to link in the search results
  5. On the Identity Protection PIN screen, answer Yes. Select Add and enter your IP PIN in the space provided
    • If you need to remove the IP PIN, select the trash icon
  6. Select Continue, then select Done

Sorry---you cannot change anything while your return is in pending.   You will have to wait.   If it is rejected then you can fix it.

If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file.  Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.
