What does "bank account is restricted" mean?  A limit on deposits and withdrawals?    Will the bank refuse a direct deposit from the IRS?

It means my bank account is restricted. I can't withdraw money. I can't login. It is restricted. Again. How do I get my money?

How did you set up to get your refund?   If the IRS plans to send it to by direct deposit to your bank, if the bank refuses the deposit, it will go back to the IRS, who will issue you a check in the mail.  Talk to your bank and ask them what will happen.

Did you use Free Edition with no fees at all, or did you have any optional add-ons that you chose to pay out of the Federal refund?   If you had any fees that you paid that way, then an intermediary bank is involved, and we can tell you more about what would happen in that case.   If you had no fees to be paid out of the Federal refund, then that would not apply to you.

I didn't have any fees. It was free to file. I set up for direct deposit but my bank was restricted a few days after I had already filed

We won't know in a user forum what your bank will do.   Ask your bank if they will process the deposit when it comes, or whether they will refuse it and send it back to the IRS.  If it's sent back, then the IRS will send a check to you at the address on the return.

@Amazinghelp2689 You are posting to a very old thread, and are unlikely to get a reply from anyone who posted here a few years ago.

Did you enter wrong banking information?

You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.  The IRS does not allow it.

If you e-filed:

Banking information for direct deposit is wrong or closed

If you entered incorrect banking information for your refund, you can change it if your return is rejected.  If it is accepted, however, it is too late to change it.  The bank will reject the refund and send it back to the IRS.  Then the IRS will issue a paper check and mail it to the address you put on your tax return.  Expect a delay of at least a couple of weeks to receive your refund.

Here is what the IRS says about entering incorrect banking information
