I filed my federal and state tax return on March 3 with turbo tax and was accepted. I have not received my fed return yet and the IRS says does not have it. Where is it?

Make sure you are using the refund amount from your actual federal tax return and not the combined amount Turbo Tax showed you at the end. That was for federal and state combined.

I did post the federal amount only. And yes I got my state refund with in 5 days of filing.

Good then Federal went through and the bank account is right. What is your filing status? If it is Head of Household try selecting Single when you look it up at IRS.

Were you having any fees deducted from your refund?

No I did not have any fees or owed anything.

What product did you use? It says "Deluxe" by your screen name above, which is a paid product. Is it indicating the wrong product above, or did you mean you paid upfront by credit/debit card?

I'll tell you below how to phone the IRS to see if they can look up your information. Have your return handy when you call.

Here's how to reach a live agent at the IRS:

IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri

Listen to each menu before making the selection.

First choose your language. Press 1 for English.

Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent, but there is likely to be a long wait.

I usually use a speakerphone so I can work on something else while waiting.
