I filed my 2019 taxes last week and I made a mistake and didn’t select direct deposit. Can I change that?

Did you already e-file?  If you did NOT e-file you can go to the FILE section and change how you want to receive your refund.

Once a return has been accepted by the IRS you cannot change how you want to receive your refund.

Thank you so much for the response.  I did, unfortunately do them online last week.  I don’t think there’s anything I can do and now I have to somehow survive w/out my fed check till sept, which let’s be honest is hardly a bail out.  Thank You!

Sometime very soon the IRS is supposed to have a portal for people who still need to enter banking information for direct deposit.  There are many people who filed returns but for whatever reason did not give their banking information to the IRS.  We hope they get it ready soon--lots of people need it.  Check back in a few days.  Hopefully you can enter your direct deposit info so that your wait will not be long.

See this IRS page---look at the right hand side where it says "Filers get your payment"

So I went to the Get my Payment portion where it looks like you will be able to eventually edit the way you receive your payment, however it won’t let me click on it (yet).  It states it will be able mid April......so I guess I have to wait?
