I filed 0 for line 35a on form 1040.(account, routing number are also filed) But there is around 3000 for line 34,do I need to file 1040x for refund? So do I need to file

So your Line 35a has zero (0) entered into it, but you also entered your routing number and account number?  Line 34 has about $3,000 entered into it?

 

Line 34 is the amount of refund due to you.

 

Line 35a marked as zero (0) means that you do not want your refund back; indicates how much of that overpayment the IRS should send you as a refund and enter your bank routing and account number to receive your refund electronically.

 

If you DO want your refund, you will need to file an amended return.  You will have to wait for your original return to process fully before you should amend.

 

If you prepared your original tax return using TurboTax:

1. Log in to your account.
2. Open the tax return you already filed.
3. Click on the link to amend your return (which won't be available until mid-to-late February).
4. The software will walk you through the process of filing the amendment.
