I entered the wrong name on my bank for direct deposit, will it be an issue?

As long as the routing number and account number are correct, you *should* be ok.  The routing number is really what controls where the money is routed (i.e. what bank) and the bank name is an extra layer to verify.  But, there is really no way of knowing for sure what your bank will do and they could still reject the deposit.  After your return has been filed and accepted by the IRS, it is too late to make any changes.  If the deposit is rejected by the bank, then the IRS will convert your refund to a paper check.

My direct deposit was rejected because they misspelled my name

If your bank routing/account numbers were correct, but your name was misspelled, you should still get your Direct Deposit.  Did you reach out to your bank?

If the bank does return your Refund to the IRS, they will mail you a check instead, to the address on your tax form.

It usually takes about 5 business days while the bank rejects the funds and the IRS sends a paper check, then between 7-10 business days to receive it after the IRS has sent the actual check.
