Are you sure it was a rebate? And by whom? Perhaps it was referencing the March 1 price increase.
It was printed across the screen on Turbotax.com: File by February 28, 2022 and receive $30 off the purchase price. This was on February 28, 2022.
Sorry--you misunderstood. They did not offer a rebate of $30. You could SAVE up to $30 by filing or paying to lock in the early discount rate before the early discounts ended on February 28. Effective March 1 the online software fees increased.
That figures! Now, I've found myself spending more than I should for one purchase of TT Premier and have learned to hate the new online version. It is missing some critical actions that I have grown to depend on since using TT every year since 1995.
So I went looking for the program in our local stores that would include the CD. Thought I found it from Walmart.com, so I went ahead and ordered it. Nope. No CD. And then when it was time to e-file, I misunderstood the flashing $30 bonus offer, owed the total of $69., and learned I could not import the online tax file into the full-asset program (except CD) from Walmart. Had to start from scratch!
This has been one hellatious tax season for this elderly TT customer.
