I don't have a 1098 from my mortgage lender. I've talked to them and they won't send another copy. How can I proceed with my taxes without it?

I've moved since last year and they won't email or forward a copy of it to me and they won't tell me the details over the phone. Is there another way to get the form or am I stuck?

If you have access to your mortgage account online your Form 1098 may be available there for downloading and printing.  Also, many automated customer support numbers for mortgage companies will provide you with the mortgage interest amount over the phone through the automated system.

Also, check your December or January mortgage statement for a copy of the Form 1098 or the details of the mortgage interest and property taxes paid for the year.
