I didn't receive a W2 for 2018. I was full time student, no job. Some classmates said not to file since I had no income & will get $0 return. Still want to file

I was unemployed all 2018 since I was full time student. I did not  receive any payments, I earned zero dollars and  therefore,  did no  get a W2. I'm  assuming since I did not make any dollars, I will not get any money return nor owe to IRS?  I still  would like to  file  2018.

The IRS will not an accept an E-File "zero filing". You can mail in a blank Form 1040 if you chose, but I'm not sure what that would achieve.

Then you will have to print and mail your return if you have no income on it.  Why do you want to file.

Any scholarships or grants?
Are you a dependent?

I though it was best to file yearly.

Not unless you have to like you have income.  If you are under 24 your parents can probably still claim you.

No scholarships or Grants. Thought I was supposed to file since I had done so on previous years.
