@ michaelcbrownsr

asked:  "I didn’t file last year return do I amend this year return?"

I'm not sure what you mean about "amend this year's return."   You cannot combine  2023 income, etc. into a 2024 return.  Each year has to be prepared and filed separately.   It has nothing to do with amending, so I'm not sure why you mentioned "amend" unless there is more to the story about your 2024 return that you haven't related.   Or did you already file a 2024 return that mistakenly included 2023 income, etc.?    If that's what you did, and if the 2024 return was accepted, then you would indeed have to amend the 2024 return.

If you want to use TurboTax to prepare the 2023 return, you have to do it in 2023 desktop software.  And the 2023 return cannot be efiled with TurboTax.  It has to be printed, signed, dated, and postal mailed.

You can purchase 2023 software directly from TurboTax here.  It has to be installed on a computer--PC, Mac, or laptop--not a tablet.

Or you may be able to find the 2023 software for a lower price on Amazon, but if you purchase there, be SURE you are buying directly from Amazon itself as an authorized retailer.

You cannot add your 2023 income to your 2024 tax return. You cannot make up for not filing for 2023 by amending your 2024 tax return. You have to file a separate tax return for each year. You can still file a tax return for 2023, even though it's late.
