I did the thing turbo tax warned me not to, I entered the wrong amount for the child tax credit, I was one month short, do I need to amend my tax forms?

I received $1500 but I entered $1250 because I multiplied by 5 instead of 6, stupid, yes. So do I need to amend or will the IRS fix it and I just sit back, relax, and wait.

No,

you don't amend for that.

Yes. the IRS will adjust for that.

Yes, you will need to wait, the IRS will most likely make the change, send the adjusted refund, and send you a letter explaining the adjustment.

You will have the choice of accepting the adjustment or disputing the change.

If you were to owe more tax, you would need to get that tax paid, but with your situation, you should have less tax liability.

Next year use the original AGI (not an adjusted number) for filing your 2022 tax year return.
