I did not get all of my stimulus and the IRS told me to amend line 33. how do I do this?

When I did my taxes I got the 1400 stimulus but the Irs said I was should have got the hold $3200 and to amend my taxes to get the $1800. where do I put this on my amendment

The IRS should have fixed you taxes if you did you list the right stimulus amount so I’m confused by what the IRS said. 

 

The stimulus payment is on line 30. Line 33 is total payments. You can’t fix line 33 without fixing other lines so I'm also not understanding why you were told to fix Line 33 only.

 

You can change your stimulus on your tax return by amending. Whatever change will go to line 33. Follow these instructions How do I amend my 2021 return?

 

To change the stimulus payment:

 

  1. Type "stimulus" in Search in the upper right
  2. Select "Jump to stimulus"
  3. TurboTax will ask whether the amount matches what you got
  4. If it doesn't, say No
  5. TurboTax will let you enter what you received and add the extra to your refund
