Yes you will need to amend at least for NC at this time since they did not conform to the new federal tax law excluding 10,200 of unemployment from taxable income.
If your unemployment benefits were over 10,200 you may need to amend your federal return as well. However, you should wait on that one for an IRS notification. They may catch that missing income and notify you.
At this point you can amend your state return only without amending your FED return until necessary.
Sign in to your TurboTax account. Select the "Add a state" option. This will allow you back in to your return without amending the Federal. Go to the state interview and find the "other tax situations" section and "Edit." "Start" the "Amend" topic.

I already received the money. I can’t believe they even accepted it. I’ve never gotten unemployment so I just went right over that question not paying attention about other income. I never got an email from NC unemployment that I needed to check my account for the 1099 like other people ive talked to received.
If your unemployment benefits received in 2020 was 10,200 or under you do not need to amend your Federal return. It was not taxable on your return, assuming you maid under $150,000 total income.
If the unemployment income was over 10,200 then you will need to amend your federal return to include the income as some of it will be taxable.
To amend your federal and state you will select the "Amend" option when signing in to your account. Follow the prompts to complete the amendments.
