I did my taxes here for 5 yrs. I checked with friends same situation they are getting back more than me. Went a few other places to see and 1000 more I’m getting not here

Why am I getting back more going to another place? I thousand dollars more all the same information

Then you entered something differently.   All of the tax software must meet the approval of the IRS and conform to all of the tax laws so that the same information will result in the same tax due or refund.   If you have a big difference like that then something you entered was different.

Then one of two things are happening -

You have not entered the exact same information on the other website as was requested on the TurboTax website.

The other website does not have or does not use the exact same forms, schedules, worksheets and calculations as the TurboTax website.  TurboTax is required by the IRS to use only IRS approved forms, schedules, worksheets and calculations based on the Internal Revenue Code of the US.

 

You would have to print out each tax return from each website to compare the information to see where the discrepancy lies.
