I deleted my state returns accidentally but have pdf's of my full federal and state returns, is there a way to re-instate these to the current year pdf?

No you can't upload a pdf.  Did you use the Online version or the Desktop program?  Go back into your return.  For Online click on Add a State to let you back in.   Then you can transfer the federal information into the state again by going back through the state tab and the state return.   Same for Desktop program, go to the State tab again.
