If you have already filed, wait to see if your return is accepted or rejected by the IRS.
If your return is rejected. you can correct any errors on the return and add the form 1099-B received from your broker.
If your return is accepted, you need to file an amended return to report the form 1099-B.
If you expect a refund, wait until you receive the refund before submitting your amended return.

Thank you very much for this info you were extremely helpful!
Hi, So I waited and received my tax return and now i am looking to amend my tax return with this new 1099 that i forgot to include when i originally filed. The problem that i am having is i can not seem to find where to upload my 1099. I see 1099-r that i can edit but its asking employer info and my 1099 is from a brokerage named scottrade so that does not look like the right spot then under 1099-misc i cant find anything that looks like broker info. can someone point me in the right direction on where to place 1099 info for money made in a brokerage such as scottrade? thank you very much and i hope this makes sense
The form you have received is a 1099-B. You can enter it under Wages and Income > Investment income > Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other
