I bond purchase AFTER already recieving tax refund

Recently I became aware that one can buy I bonds with their tax return. I alreday filed and recieved my refund.  Is there someway I can still use the amount of my refund to purchase I bonds or must I have opted for this when I filed my return

Yes, you would have had to select the option during the preparation of your tax return. Please see the below help article for more information.

At this point, you could still buy an I Bond on the Treasury Direct website, assuming you qualify.
