I believe the number on line 40 of my 1040 A is wrong, how do i fix it?

Since line 40 is the amount of federal tax withheld from your W-2s and 1099s, you'd have to go back and change your entries on those forms.  W-2s are the first income topic under Federal Taxes, Wages and Income.
