I'm just trying to make a complaint so you can do your job better. My return was stuck in a received not processed status for a long time. Getting to a person at the IRS was impossible. The issue was that I needed to do ID.me. I got a letter from the IRS requesting this, but it was put aside and lost. But then found several weeks later. The IRS wanted this and there was no way other than the letter that was lost to know that that was needed. Turbo Tax should know that this is a possible issue. Of course the IRS should be able to tell people that they are waiting on an ID.me thing to, but they suck now. Turbo Tax should try to suck less than the IRS though.
Why are you blaming TurboTax? TT provided software for you to prepare a do-it-yourself tax return. TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS after you file your return. No one at TurboTax knows your refund was delayed, why it was delayed, or that you had to create an ID.ME account. Letters sent to you by the IRS are not sent to TurboTax, so TT would have no way to know that the IRS sent you a letter or that you lost the letter.
