I amended my taxes twice and can't get transferred to speak with a rep over the phone

On my original return, I was refunded $1300 in state and owed $60 in federal and had to schedule the payment for what I owed. I then had to amend where I somehow owed $700 in state and $1,600 in fed and then scheduled the payment for that (thinking I would have to schedule a payment plan with IRS). I had to amend the second and final time where I was refunded $700 in state and $130 in fed. The amendments were done within a week of each other and both were accepted. I just received my original tax return and the payment was taken out.

What do I do with that extra money from my original return? Will the $60 payment be refunded?

Does this mean my first amendment that said I owed a combined $2300 will be taken out on that scheduled pay date as well? I'm terrified that money will come out!!

Thanks in advance!

I suggest that you don't do anything until all of the returns and amendments have been completely processed.

With this much going on you may get a tax notice.

  • Respond to the phone number on the notice if you get it.
  • If everything is processed, and you do not get a notice you should call the IRS.
  • Once you submit your return in TurboTax Online, you'll see its status on the Tax Home screen of your account.
